The First Annual evian Wood Racquet Cup
Greetings from The First Annual evian Wood Racquet Cup! Just standing here with my Pimm’s cup enjoying the match.
Dylan and I have been working with MKG for the past few months doing event branding for several evian summer events. This is the only one that took place locally, so it was really great to be able to go hang out and see our work printed all over everything. The event took place at the West Side Tennis Club in Forest Hills, Queens, an absolutely beautiful neighborhood filled with old, old stone and brick houses. The club has been around for over 100 years and used to host the U.S. Open.
Our pal Dave Brown from MKG hangin’ with Judah Friedlander.
Social Print Studio’s Live Printer was on hand to print out images instagrammed at the event and hashtagged #evianWRC. I was definitely posting and hashtagging more than I usually would be to get those prints.
We both (sort of embarassingly) wore gingham, because, like, what else do you wear to the tennis club?
Planning 2012

I am an obsessive planner, list maker, crosser-outer, and writer-downer of everything I do and have to do. I’ve always kept a Moleskine planner, but when I saw this bright, color blocked 2012 Daily Planner by Julia Kostreva, I had to switch over. At first its size was a bit daunting, as I’m used to pocket-sized, but I soon grew to love the ample spaces for each day, the big monthly calendars, and the extra blank pages for notes. The year has still just begun, and you can pick up your own planner by Julia (in any of 5 cover designs!) here.
Future Presents
I made my own wrapping paper this year using one of my favorite floral patterns. I love how the red-orange and yellow-green throw a new spin on traditional holiday colors. The tags I bought from Caramelos on Etsy, though there are a ton of Etsy shops that sell little manila tags in lots of colors. I also used a thin pink ribbon for these, but as soon as I ran out I switched to cutting strips of a thin cream-colored cotton fabric. I think the wrapping may be even better than what’s inside!
